(AP) - President-elect Barack Obama has selected NewMexico Gov. Bill Richardson to be secretary of commerce in his newadministration.
Richardson is the first Hispanic that Obama has named to hisrapidly forming Cabinet, which also includes two women, HillaryRodham Clinton and Janet Napolitano.
He said he was happy and proud to take the job, delivering partof his acceptance talk in Spanish.
Richardson was among the challengers to Obama for the DemocraticParty presidential nomination earlier this year and he has beensecretary of energy and U.N. ambassador in the Clintonadministration.
