A firefighter and a 24-year-old man were seriously injured in a fire on Miller Avenue in East New York.
Firefighters were called to 187 Miller Ave. at 2:15 a.m. The three-alarm fire required nearly 140 firefighters and emergency personal to help contain the flames.
Firefighters utilized a drone to help get to the center of the fire, while also attempting to find the source. A ladder was also used to help calm down the smoke on the top floor of 181 Miller Avenue.
Neighbors say it appears to have started at 185 Miller Ave. and spread to neighboring homes. At 181 Miller Ave. At 181 Miller Ave. the mother of a 24-year-old told News 12 that her son is suffering from burns to his back. Another person had minor injuries at 187 Miller Ave.
It was not immediately clear how the firefighter, who was not named by authorities, was injured.
The Red Cross says it is currently assisting four families, consisting of 17 people.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
