Bridgeport officials announced a partnership with the National Association of Naval Veterans to bring two events to the city Friday.

The first will be to recognize a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, known has the Wall that Heals.

It will be displayed at Veterans Park and be 375 feet long and over seven feet tall.

"The Wall that Heals brings awareness, honor and closure. It allows families, friends, and veterans to reconnect and honor the 58,000 names that are on that wall," says Vietnam navy veteran Bill Battaglia.

The wall is expected to be recognized in September.

The other event the city will host is the Tunnels to Tower Road Race on October 19 in the city's black rock neighborhood.

The race, along with the Tunnel to Towers foundation, was started to honor firefighter Stephen Siller who gave up his life to save others on Sept. 11.
