A special groundbreaking was held today for new affordable housing in Williamsburg.
Dozens of elected officials and organizations gathered to break ground on the first out of three affordable housing units under the new Broadway Triangle Development Project.
Apartments will have a mix of studios and units ranging from one to four bedrooms with pricing starting just under $1,600.
The project will be bringing a total of 387 new affordable units all in the same vicinity. Not only is affordable housing being brought in through this project, but over 10,000 square feet of community and commercial space will also be included.
The building is supposed to be done by 2024. The construction dates for the other buildings have yet to be announced.
