The Brookhaven Environmental Center says it has accepted over 45 million pounds of material so far in 2022.

The building’s officials told News 12 that puts the facility on par to produce an equal number of pounds of recyclables for the year.

Officials added that's a huge increase from years past thanks to an updated material recovery facility.
