With hurricane season less than two weeks away, New York City officials are urging Brooklyn residents to know their zone in case they need to evacuate during a storm.
According to the Office of Emergency Management, 3 million New Yorkers are living in a hurricane evacuation zone.
To prepare for upcoming storms, the office is starting a new "Know Your Zone" hurricane awareness campaign to help New Yorkers prepare for upcoming storms.
Federal forecasters are predicting a slower-than-normal hurricane season. But, just one storm can devastate a city.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts that we'll have eight to 13 named storms this year. Three to six of those named storms are expected to be hurricanes.
