The Old Marcal Paper Factory site is in the early stages of being redeveloped.
The Elmwood Park property – its factory that burned down nearly four years ago – had 12 acres sold to Crow Holdings, a Texas-based development company.
Crow just received the site work permits, which means it can begin to clear and prep for a planned warehouse.
"It’s a good thing,” said Woodland Park Borough Administrator Michael Foligno. “It will be state of art around the new warehousing, the surrounding area will be enhanced. So, it's going to be brand new stuff for the community. Bigger tax revenue coming in from that property."
Crow Holdings says the redevelopment will bring in jobs both during the construction phase and when it opens. They hope to break ground later this fall.
