For the fifth year on Palm Sunday, family and friends gathered at the Wall of Remembrance in KeySpan Park to celebrate the lives of those lost on 9/11.
Families of first responders who died on 9/11 gather on this day every year to remember their loved ones. The wall has the names and pictures of fallen first responders etched into it. The director who helped build the wall says right now there are only the names of first responders from Brooklyn. He hopes to add the names of first responders from all five boroughs in the future.
A Palm Sunday Mass, celebrated at the wall, was dedicated to the responders. Those who attended say the Mass is a special way to remember and honor their loved ones.
