Parents and teachers are fighting to keep the doors open for a beloved Borough Park school.
The Guild for Exceptional Children's Carrie Mastronardi Early Childhood Education Program is scheduled to close for good Jan. 23.
The program serves children 5 years old and younger who have special needs. The school says the cost of running the center is more money than it receives from the New York State Department of Education for each child.
Parents say it's challenging to find schools and programs for special needs children, which is why they will continue to fight to make sure the school does not close next month.
News 12 reached out to the state Department of Education for comment on the school's closure but has not yet received a response.
