Community members are calling for the resignation of a Brooklyn school board member after she allegedly used a racial slur in a group email exchange.
Jackie Cody, who was elected to serve on Community Education Council 22, is under fire for referring to Asian parents and students as "yellow folks" and "yellow children" in an online forum for school leaders in September.
Residents say her two-month-old apology just added insult to injury.
More than 100 people rallied at a public meeting on Tuesday for Cody to resign. People at the meeting say Cody eventually apologized at the rally, adding that she was sorry and unaware that the term was offensive.
News 12 has reached out to Cody for a statement but has not yet heard back.
