Parents at a Brownsville charter school rallied Tuesday in support of a terminated teacher.
Administrators at Brownsville Ascend Charter School told parents that they didn't like the style of teaching Brendan Scott used in his math classes. Many of the parents say Scott is a role model for students.
Further frustrating the parents, the firing comes just weeks before state exams.
The parents called for his reinstatement, but school officials say they don't feel that the decision will adversely affect students.
The school says it cannot comment further, citing personnel matters.
