Park Slope ranks as one of the top-10 neighborhoods in the entire country, according to a national nonprofit.
The American Planning Association placed the Brooklyn neighborhood eighth. The APA cited Park Slope's stately brownstones, historical architecture, diverse residents, community involvement and businesses as reasons for its high ranking.
Residents agree, it's a great neighborhood. "It's very safe," said Ralph John. "Lots of restaurants, lots of shopping. Very close and convenient to Manhattan."
Other neighborhoods that made the cut include San Francisco's North Beach and Old West Austin in Texas.Related information:American Planning Association
