A popular tea café in Park Slope has sparked an artwork controversy over what some are calling provocative paintings.

Jonathan Spiel, the Tea Lounge owner, says he has allowed local artists to display their work for more than 10 years, but recently one artist returned to cover exposed breasts in his paintings after some complained that it made them uncomfortable.

Spiel says that he quickly removed the pieces of canvas covering up the artwork and is frustrated that it's even an issue. He hopes to have the art on display for years to come.
