Remember to be present with your feelings, and not just the presents being given and received this holiday season.
That's the advice from one licensed therapist who says that tuning-in with one's feelings can be the best way to deal with the stress that often comes with any holiday gathering this time of year.
"Whether you're someone who loves the holidays, you dread them or you're somewhere in between, I think we can all agree that it does bring up a lot of different feelings," says Jody Baumstein, a licensed therapist.
Baumstein advocates for changing, or abandoning traditions altogether if they're causing particular aggravation.
Another top tip is to make sure you're not afraid to ask others for help even if you are the one who may be in charge of hosting a gathering.
