A man is recovering in the hospital after being struck by a car Saturday in East New York.
Police say it happened at Pitkin and Shepherd avenues just after 3 p.m. They say the victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in serious condition.
A witness says the victim was stuck under the car after being hit, and bystanders banded together to lift it off of him and pull him out.
Police say the victim is expected to be OK.
