Jewish people from all over the world gathered in Grand Army Plaza on Wednesday to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah and light one of the biggest menorahs in the world.
The event also featured tasty food and festive music.
The ceremony symbolizes peace and hope for the holiday to come. The festival of lights will be celebrated at the Grand Army Plaza every night through the end of the holiday.
