Planned Parenthood celebrated its 100th birthday this week, and many people may be unaware that the charity's first location nationwide was in Brooklyn.

It opened at 46 Amboy St. in Brownsville, but now the organization is hitting the road to make its coverage more accessible.

Project Street Beat, a mobile medical van, aims to bring testing for medical conditions and sexually transmitted infections to the public with its onboard mobile lab.

Health care providers can write birth control prescriptions, test for HIV and give out condoms.

Planned Parenthood says the goal of Project Street Beat is to literally bring health care to people who may not have access to it.
