A firefighter from Brooklyn was honored Tuesday a year and a day after his death.Mayor Bloomberg (R-NY) dedicated a plaque to Firefighter Richard Sclafani at Ladder Company 103 in East New York. Sclafani, 37, died while trying to rescue children from a burning building. He is survived by his mother and sister.Firefighters refer to the day Sclafani died as Black Sunday because two other city firefighters died that same day in the Bronx.
