Several
Oceanside residents say their cars were recently targeted by thieves.
Two people
said their cars were stolen Monday night. Catalytic converters were also taken
and cash was stolen from unlocked vehicles.
“I grew up here my whole life
this has never happened. For this to be going on in my neighborhood where I'm
going to start a family, where I just planted roots into the ground, it's
scary,” says Chris Dickie,
Oceanside.
So far Nassau police have confirmed one car that was
stolen and five that had cash taken from inside the vehicle.
Police say
the most important thing is for people to lock their cars and take their keys
or fobs inside the house.
