One man has died after a shooting at Spencer Place and Fulton Street Sunday afternoon, police say.
News 12 Brooklyn is told that a 22-year-old and an unidentified 29-year-old were found lying on the ground next to each other around 4 p.m.
Police say the 29-year-old man was shot in his backside and was transported to Kings County Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Jack Lester, 22, was shot in the torso and was transported to Interfaith Hospital where he died from his injuries. Reports indicate that Lester is the son of the assistant to borough president Eric Adams.
News 12 is told that Lester leaves behind a 2-year-old son and his girlfriend who is pregnant with their second child.
The borough president has since released a statement that reads, "A member of our Brooklyn Borough Hall family has lost one of their own. We share in mourning the life that gun violence tragically claimed yesterday afternoon in Bed-Stuy. I am as resolute as ever to combat this epidemic that has deeply hurt so many of us."
Police have not made any arrests in the case, but say the investigation is ongoing.
