One person was killed and two others were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Canarsie involving a vehicle that was reported stolen.
Police say a Toyota 4Runner was headed west on Avenue K Sunday afternoon when it struck an oncoming Honda.
The vehicle then careened onto the sidewalk, striking a 51-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man, officials say. A third car also sustained damage in the chain-reaction crash.
Police say the driver of the stolen Toyota got out of the car and fled on foot.
The two people on the sidewalk and the Honda driver were taken to Brookdale Medical Center. Police say the female pedestrian died, and the two other victims are in stable condition.
