A teenager is facing multiple charges following a Belmont shooting that injured a police officer, officials say.
The NYPD say Officer Paul Lee was shot in the shoulder early Tuesday morning while on duty. It’s unclear how the situation escalated, but shots were fired at an unmarked police car that Lee was in when he was shot in the shoulder.
Officer Lee and his partner then exited the vehicle and chased after the two suspects. They were able to apprehend a 16-year-old suspect whose name was not revealed.
Police are still looking for the other person who was with the teen, as well as a person responsible for a second round of gunshots right before officers chased the duo down.
