Police: 2 men in custody, facing slew of charges in Queens assaults

Police say two men were arrested this week for allegedly attacking at least three men in the Richmond Hills section of Queens on Tuesday.

Police say two men were arrested this week for allegedly attacking at least three men in the Richmond Hills section of Queens on Tuesday.  
Police say 20-year-old Hezekiah Coleman was arrested in the attacks on two of those men.  
Police say 19-year-old Vernon Douglas is facing a slew of charges in connection to his alleged involvement in all three assaults.   
Police tell News 12 that Douglas assaulted a 70-year-old man on April 2—approaching him on Lefferts Boulevard and 95th Avenue and punching him in the face.  
Police say Douglas and Coleman on April 12 approached two Sikh men, 76 and 64 years old, and attacked them with fists and a stick.  
This was before allegedly taking off with their religious head gear and some cash.  
Douglas is charged with assault as a hate crime, aggravated harassment based on race or religion and assault based on age.  
Coleman is charged with robbery as a hate crime, assault as a hate crime and aggravated harassment.  
News 12 is told that all three victims are disturbed but expected to be OK.
