Police say a 14-year-old male was arrested Wednesday in connection to the attack on an 11-year-old girl in Sheepshead Bay.
Police say the incident, which was caught on camera, happened on Dec. 18 near Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Y around 8 p.m.
They say the victim was walking near the intersection when two young men came up and threw a backpack at her. They then started spraying her in the face with water before throwing the plastic bottle at her. The pair then began punching her in the head.
Police tell News 12 that at least one of the suspects is known to the victim in some capacity, but just as an acquaintance.
The girl suffered injuries, but police say they were not severe.
