Two women were struck and injured by a truck Thursday in Sunset Park, according to police.

The crash happened just before 12 p.m. at the corner of Third Avenue and 43rd Street. Police say the two women were trying to cross the street when a construction truck turning onto Third Avenue hit them.

Police say one woman was hospitalized in critical condition; the other was stable with minor injuries.

The truck driver stayed on scene. He was taken into custody and charged with failure to yield and exercise due care.
