A Bridgeport woman was arrested after police say she helped a murder suspect flee the state.

A Bridgeport woman was arrested after police say she helped a murder suspect flee the state.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force served an arrest warrant for Melanie Castro on Thursday.
Castro was wanted for her alleged involvement in the deadly shooting of Marisol Dumeng on May 28 in Bridgeport.
After the homicide, authorities say Castro and the shooting suspect, Glenn Pettway Jr., fled the state and headed to Tennessee.
Police say Castro assisted Pettway in getting to Tennessee where he killed himself after he was barricaded inside a house surrounded by law enforcement officials for 12 hours.
Castro was charged with violating criminal liability acts of another for murder and hindering prosecution.
She is being held on $1.5 million bond.
