Police: Group attacks 13-year-old with hammer in Sheepshead Bay

Police officials say a teenager was assaulted in Sheepshead Bay Wednesday morning.

Police officials say a teenager was assaulted in Sheepshead Bay Wednesday morning.
They say it happened at the intersection of East 17th Street and Quentin Road at 11 a.m.
The 13-year-old victim says he was walking home after school when he was approached by five people who he knows from school.
Police say they got into an argument that turned physical. The victim says he was hit by a person in the group with a hammer once on the head and then on his hand.
The victim was taken to a hospital. There is no word yet on his condition.
The suspects are said be around 13 years old.
