Police have identified the man who died in a double shooting in Brownsville over the weekend as 42-year-old Johnny Hughes.
Police say the double shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday on Glenmore Avenue near the Powell Playground in Brownsville.
Sources close to the investigation say the shooting happened at an outdoor party.
Police say when they arrived, they saw a 41-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the leg and a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
They say both were taken to the hospital, where the 42-year-old died and the 41-year-old is still recovering.
Resident Anthony Mitchell says they aren't surprised.
"Only 42 years old that's serious. I mean, not too many people get old anymore in Brownsville. You see it all the time, and that's what makes it really sad, even younger," said Mitchell.
