Police say a man raped a sleeping woman on the F train.
The 25-year-old victim fell asleep shortly after midnight Wednesday, according to authorities.
They say she woke up to find a man sexually assaulting her. She exited the train at the Avenue I station in Midwood, and was taken to the hospital. She reported the crime later that day.
The NYPD Special Victims Division is still looking for the suspect.
NYPD statistics show a 2.5 percent increase in transit crime, as well as a 22.6 percent increase in rape citywide from this time last year. Some commuters say they haven't noticed any difference in crime while riding New York City Transit, but others say it's obviously dangerous and needs more police presence.
