Police: Man who used shoelace to choke driver in Williamsburg arrested, identified

The vehicle ended up crashing into multiple cars before hitting a fence.

Police have identified and arrested the man involved in a Williamsburg car hijacking in which he used a shoelace to choke the victim.
The NYPD say Anthony Field, 56, is behind bars and facing multiple charges including robbery and attempted murder. He's accused of choking a man with a shoelace before taking control of his van in East Williamsburg on Sept. 8.
The vehicle ended up crashing into multiple cars before hitting a fence.
The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
