Police say a person of interest is in custody for a pattern of seven hate crimes reported in one day in Manhattan. 
The following string of attacks were reported by the NYPD on Sunday, Feb. 27: 
6:30 p.m.
Police say an unknown man approached a 57-year-old Asian female near Madison Avenue and East 30th Street and struck her in the face with a closed fist. 
Police say the victim suffered redness and swelling to the left side of her face as well as a cut to her lip. 
They say the suspect fled northbound on Madison Avenue toward East 31st Street on foot. 
6:40 p.m. 
Police say a man approached a 15-year-old Asian woman and struck her in the face and the back of her arm with a closed fist. 
The victim suffered swelling and redness to the left side of her face. Police say she didn’t require any medical attention on the scene. 
6:45 p.m. 
A man approached a 21-year-old Asian woman near Park Avenue and East 23rd Street and punched her in the face, according to police. 
The victim suffered a laceration and swelling to the mouth. 
6:50 p.m. 
Police say a man approached a 25-year-old Asian woman and punched her in face near Irving Place and East 17th Street. 
The woman suffered a laceration and swelling to her upper lip. 
7:05 p.m. 
Police say a 19-year-old Asian woman was elbowed in her face by a man near Union Square East and East 17th Street. 
The victim suffered a laceration to her lip. 
7:25 p.m. 
A 25-year-old Asian woman was elbowed in her mouth by an unknown man near East Houston Street and Mott Street. 
She suffered swelling and bleeding to her lower lip, according to police.
8:37 p.m. 
Police say a 20-year-old Asian woman was shoved to the ground near Broadway and East Eighth Street by an unknown man. 
They say she suffered minor injuries to her hands.
