A police guard post set up outside Mayor Bill de Blasio's empty Park Slope home has one local leader questioning NYPD security tactics.
Public Advocate Letitia James says the post should be removed. The mayor and his family moved to Gracie Mansion on the Upper East Side from their Brooklyn home in July.
Residents agreed with James, saying the booth takes up parking spots and is a waste of money.
The guard stand is equipped with video surveillance and has been reported to cost the city $277,000 a year.
News 12 reached out to the mayor's office who referred security questions to the NYPD. The NYPD told News 12, "Due to the sensitive nature of this information, we do not discuss security arrangements for any individual."
