Police say a 35-year-old man has been charged after hitting a pedestrian in Bed-Stuy.
According to police, Robert Daniel struck a 52-year-old man at Atlantic and Bedford avenues at around midnight. The victim is in critical condition at Interfaith Hospital.
The speed limit at the intersection had just been reduced to 25 mph as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio's "Vision Zero" initiative to eliminate traffic accidents.
Daniel has been charged with vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.
