A would-be car thief in Throgs Neck managed to drive off with a minivan with three children inside, before police say he ditched the vehicle a short while later.
According to police, the children's father left them inside the running car while he ran into a pharmacy on Saturday. While he was inside, a man jumped behind the wheel and sped off.
The thief got out of the van four blocks after taking it, and left the scene. Police say none of the children inside the van were hurt.
