A one-of-a kind traveling, pop-up bookstore is in Red Hook.
"Libreria Donceles" opened in late March at 360 Van Brunt St. and boasts more than 25,000 books -- all of them secondhand Spanish-language books.
"We developed it as a response to the fact that there's a great lack of stores that sell books in Spanish in New York City," says Pablo Helguera, who owns the store and serves as its curator. "This is here to serve the entire population."
Helguera started the bookstore in 2013. Over the past two years, his store has traveled from coast to coast, from Miami to San Francisco.
All of the books are donated and include some rare items like a signed copy of former President Bill Clinton's autobiography "My Life."
Helguera asks customers to pay the amount that they feel is fair and reasonable for a book.
