A pop-up COVID-19 vaccination site opened at the Cooper Park Houses in Williamsburg this morning.
Rep. Carolyn Maloney called on the mayor earlier this month to open a site at this location because it was a community where some people felt there wasn't enough vaccine accessibility.
The Cooper Park Houses also has a significant amount of elderly and disabled residents.
Any adult can walk into the pop-up site and get the vaccine without an appointment.
Rep. Maloney said getting the vaccine should be easy for everyone and that she is hopeful this new location will help drive up vaccination rates.
