The Pratt Institute in Clinton Hill design school reached a deal with the Institute of Art in Cuba that will allow students on both sides to study abroad.

School President Thomas Schutte says Pratt actually has a lot in common with Cuba when it comes to art.

"The landscape of Cuba is extraordinary," Schutte says. "It's got tremendous buildings and structures and facilities throughout it. It just lends itself to an art and design school and architecture school like Pratt."

Officials say the agreement will allow joint academic courses and a study abroad program.

David Burney, an associate professor of planning, says the partnership will provide opportunities for architecture students at both schools.
