A prayer vigil organized by local clergy was held Monday to pray for hope and peace in Brooklyn and around the country - in the wake of hate and division.
The vigil was held by the 69th Precinct clergy council. They say it was important for them to send a message to their neighbors.
The prayers asked for peace, but most of all a prayer from different congregations and denominations for Brooklyn's Jewish community.
Various religious leaders also stepped in to pray for President Trump, our country's political and diplomatic leaders, our economy and our police officers.
They also said a prayer to end gun violence. Those who attended said it's important to send a message of love to others, regardless of who they are.
Organizers also tell News 12 that demonstrations like these make the city great, especially when neighbors and friends can stand together in good times and in bad, and extend a helping hand when needed.
