A wet and windy storm system may cause flash flooding and outages.

Rain gear and a Halloween trick or treating backup plan will be needed.

News12's Storm Watch Team is nailing down the final details on Thursday's approaching storm system.

Two rounds of steady and heavy rain are possible, with the morning commute impacted by downpours that may lead to localized flash flooding. Another round of downpours is possible in the late afternoon into the early evening on Thursday, although confidence is becoming higher in the timing shifting to the morning hours.

Localized flash flooding is possible in the heaviest of rain bands where a quick 1 to 3 inches of rain may fall.

On top of the rain, we will be dealing with strong gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph winds that may lead to isolated power outages.

While the rain leaves the area by Thursday night, the winds remain very gusty in Halloween on Friday.

This will continue to pose the threat of some outages into the day on Friday and may lead to tree branches falling.

Trick or treating may become unpleasant and potentially dangerous especially in neighborhoods that have a lot of tree branches hanging over power lines.

Considering another option for the kids may not be a bad idea.

Stay tuned to News12 for the latest on this storm system.
