The principal of Brooklyn Technical High School announced his resignation Monday night.
Principal Lee McCaskill headed the school for nearly 20 years. According to the Daily News, McCaskill resigned after investigators found he had enrolled his daughter in Public School 29 in Brooklyn even though his family lives in New Jersey. The state requires non-city residents to pay tuition fees for sending children to city schools. Investigators found McCaskill owes the city more than $19,000 in fees.
The Department of Education says it will not bring disciplinary charges against McCaskill in exchange for his resignation and agreement to pay the fees he owes.
