The MTA?s proposed cutbacks on express bus services has the Bay Ridge community outraged.
In an attempt to help close the $1 billion budget gap, the MTA has proposed cutting services on the B-4 and B-16 lines and X-27 and X-28 express buses while eliminating the 3rd Avenue B-37 line. Many seniors in the area who depend on these buses are expressing their frustration.
?It doesn't make sense,? bus rider Joe Metzger says. ?They're doing away with things that are necessary.?
An MTA spokesman said that they have had to make difficult decisions. The board will talk about their final plan in a Dec. 17 meeting.
