Prosecutors say a Bronx man was sentenced to 63 years to life in prison for murdering his father and ex-girlfriend in 2020.
Jean Carlo Jimenez attacked Ramon Emilio Jimenez and his brother, stabbing them both inside an apartment on Gleason Avenue, officials said.
Shortly after, he walked to Mercy Capacette's apartment and stabbed his ex-girlfriend 47 times. Capacette died from her injuries the same night. Ramon Emilio Jimenez died a month after the attack.
Investigators said the dispute was over an attempt for Jimenez to get Capacette back.
Jimenez’s brother remains in a rehab center as a result of his injuries.
