A PTA president has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from a Brooklyn school. 

According to police, Suzanne Olney, who is in charge of the parent-teacher organization at P.S. 216 in Gravesend, transferred $14,000 from the PTA account into her personal bank account. The transfers were made online on four separate occasions.

Olney was taken into custody Tuesday night at her Gravesend home and is now facing third-degree grand larceny charges.

"While PTA members are not school employees, they are part of the school community," the Department of Education said in a statement. "The alleged misconduct is deeply disappointing and betrays the trust the P.S. 216 school community placed in her."
