Today was the final day for Brooklyn residents to give their thoughts on the development in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the plan, which is a combination of luxury apartments and affordable housing, and includes two high-rise towers.
Many local community leaders and residents are not exactly in support of the plan. While the city says it's necessary to help the park continue to remain financially self-sufficient, some worry it will overcrowd the area and could be an environmental hazard, especially since the area is considered a flood zone.
The comment period offered the chance for modifications to the original plan, like the opportunity to put in pre-K space and add retail space.
