Commuters breathed a sigh of relief on Tuesday as New Jersey Transit and Amtrak trains were on or close to schedule.

Monday's commute was derailed by overhead wire issues near Newark Penn Station, causing delays of over 12 hours.

While the exact cause of the wire issues remains unclear, officials confirm that it was related to the overhead wires owned and operated by Amtrak.

The issue affected NJ Transit, which uses the same lines.
