FORECAST
Look for the winds to hang around through tonight and into tomorrow. The winds, coupled with cooler temperatures in the 40s tonight, will create some cooler wind chills for the morning. Feels-like temperatures will start out in the lower 40s with winds out of the north at 15-20 mph. Winds can gust up to 30 mph Thursday as this offshore storm moves away tomorrow night. A weak cold front will slide through the area, giving this storm the push it needs to finally move out. Winds freshen, humidity levels drop and so do temperatures going into Friday. No rain is expected.
The National Hurricane Center's forecast for the storm offshore now has it as a 70% chance of subtropical cyclone development. The storm has taken on some tropical characteristics today and has become more organized. It's still possible this storm could become subtropical later tonight as it accelerates away from our area. Either way, it doesn't really matter what the storm's status is because we will see the same impacts locally. Look for more rough conditions offshore and gusty winds on Thursday.
Temperatures on Thursday will be the warmest of the week, with highs in the mid-to-upper 60s. Expect a cool down for Friday and Saturday, where temperatures don't get out of the 50s. Next week will feature more dry weather, sunshine and seasonable fall temperatures.
