Frustrated students, parents and educators rallied in Crown Heights Wednesday to express their concerns over the New York State Education Department’s "Every Student Succeeds Act" plan.

The department is having several meetings across the state to receive feedback on the plan.

Those at the rally believe the act doubles down on testing, counts opt-out students as having failed the exams for the purpose of accountability and guarantees the continuation of narrowed test-prep curriculum that they say has spurred the nation's largest test refusal movement.

Those who were not able to attend the meeting can still submit written comments about the proposal.  They will be accepted until June 16.  The revised plan will then be sent to the Board of Regents in July.
