New Jersey Transit rail service is back to normal after some delays during the Wednesday morning commute due to Amtrak overhead wire issues.
Following those delays, Rep. Frank Pallone led a tour of the Northeast Corridor Line with Amtrak’s CEO and NJ Transit’s president. It was part of the congressman’s effort to address ongoing rail issues while pushing for solutions to improve service.
"The level of disruption of service is unacceptable. Since the summer they have put a lot of man and woman power - if you will - into looking at the overhead wires, the catenary wires and seeing what the problem is."
Pallone says federal support is key to ensuring these projects are completed and provide long-lasting benefits for the region.
