A new report by the NYPD's Civilian Complaint Review Board reveals that more allegations of police using excessive force are being confirmed by investigators.
It found 6 percent of excessive force allegations were substantiated during the first half of this year.
Investigators also say 12 of the substantiated claims from October of last year to June were police chokehold cases.
The chokehold is the banned NYPD tactic a medical examiner said contributed the death of Eric Garner last summer on Staten Island.
The new report also says cellphone video has really helped investigators back up complaints.
