Residents across the borough participated in a toy drive and caroling event in Sheepshead Bay yesterday. The festivities were held at the Saint Mark's Auditorium, and were sponsored by state Sen. Carl Kruger (D-27th District) and the Bay Improvement Group. Event organizers say all of the donated toys are brought to local shelters for homeless and battered women. "Everyone in the community knows we deliver it right in this community, and it makes you feel good that it's done in a matter of hours," said event organizer Steve Barrison. This marked the 20th annual celebration.
